Self-care isn’t something you do once you’re burnt out. Self-care is a way of preventing burnout.
In my journey of recovering from mental illness, I’ve learnt the hard way how important it is to slow down. Take time and focus on yourself.

The world is so busy 24/7, never stopping.
Everyone is constantly busy.
Somehow, being busy & being exhausted is seen as an accomplishment. Society has normalised not stopping until you’re completely burned out, always aiming for more. You always hear “negative” positivity quotes thrown around, “Don’t stop until you’ve done it”, “constantly hassling”, and “grind”. In all of this, we forget about ourselves. I have learnt the hard way. If you don’t care for yourself, your mind and body will force you to. Constantly being on the go is seen as a bag of honour. Listening to your body, resting, and caring for yourself can be perceived as weak. However, taking care of yourself is the most productive thing you can do.
I hope More Than a Box Co can help you add self-care to your daily routine & look after your mental health. We all have our mental health as well as our physical health to look after.
